Fire hits Hasler maintenance shack near sulphur pipeline

Increased gas reserves in British Columbia
Energy and Mines Minister Dan Miller reported that B C gas reserves rose while oil reserves stayed about the same. Northeastern reserves exceeded 290 billion cubic metres with oil at just over 26 million cubic metres. 925 oil wells and 1,922 gas wells operated at year end. Gas production reached 23.5 billion cubic metres in 1999, a record high for the province.
