Chetwynd tackles stray issue with dog licenses and clinic efforts
Chetwynd faces stray overpopulation as Loupret, the local dogcatcher, notes 100 to 200 dogs and about 150 cats are euthanized annually. The Chetwynd Veterinary Clinic treats and adopts animals for modest fees, offering vaccination and sterilization discounts. District incentives include reduced licenses to encourage spaying or neutering, though no cat bylaw exists.
