First candidate announces plans to run in civic election
Rick Davison reports Dahl, a Dahl's Welding owner and father of three, becomes the first non-politician to announce intent to run for one of six Chetwynd council seats. He cites economic growth, a possible coal mine and ethanol plant, concerns about out of province workers, and criticizes downtown-focused revitalization and proposed Boundary Expansion delaying. Dahl grew up on a Progress-area farm, studied in Dawson Creek, lived in Alberta 16 years, and moved to Chetwynd seven years ago to settle with his family.
