Northern Medical Program to start first class next year

The Northern Medical Program a BC Medical School component with UBC UVic and MBC aims to double BC physician training The first class of 24 will study at UBC for a semester starting next August then continue in northern BC through UNBC Prince George and local communities Applications open until October 1 Interviews begin in late winter The program plans a 6 million endowment over 4 5 years and appoints Dr David Snadden to lead development Wayne Watson Construction builds the Northern Health Sciences Centre at UNBC slated for completion summer 2004 Eight first year UBC students join a prototypical week in January to test delivery methods in Prince George with local physician involvement"}
