Louisiana Pacific a go for Chetwynd expansion
After year of negotiations, Louisana Pacific Panel Projects Ltd accepts the Ministry of Forests offer for Pulpwood Area 13. A CTM pulp mill will begin construction in Chetwynd within 12 months, aiming to be operational in two years, creating up to 330 direct jobs and about 2,500 indirect positions.

Templeton to Manage Adopt-a-Pet Program
Alma Templeton owner of Trakalot Kennels will manage the Adopt-A-Pet program for the B.C.S.P.C.A. The Society works under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and has powers to seize or dispose of animals in custody. The Chetwynd branch formed Adopt-A-Pet due to no local shelter, with Neva Strand and Jean Jones as founders. The program offers temporary homes for lost or unwanted animals and invites new members and community support.
