Mount McAllister fire burns near Dinosaur Lake containment rises
Crews burn fuel on a knoll south of Dinosaur Lake to stop spread while guarding Portage Mountain communications. The 25,700 hectare fire is 60 percent contained south of the lake as rain and cooler weather arrive. An evacuation alert remains for areas west of Hudsons Hope through Strain Road to Eagle Heights and Aspen Drives. A second Australian management team has taken over incident command and efforts focus on mop up, preventing crossing Dinosaur Lake, and returning firefighting gear to camp.
