Ministry Puts Forth Safety Plan and Takes to the Air Waves
The Ministry of Women's Equality closed Chetwynd's Herstory Transition House on October 17 1994 citing organizational instability and credibility issues. A safety plan proposes relocating women and children to Dawson Creek Fort St John and Tumbler Ridge facilities with transport arrangements and police coordination if needed. Local officials service providers and the RCMP were informed and plan to operate after hours.
