1600 Animals Slaughtered By Antifreeze Poisoning
A BC veterinary survey shows 1589 cats and dogs died last year from ethylene glycol antifreeze poisoning. The real toll is higher since only animals seen by vets are counted. Poison is deadly after ingestion and often caused by improper disposal by vehicle owners. Manufacturers Dow and Union Carbide are urged to add taste deterrents.
