BC Parks Legacy panel formed to shape future parks
A seven member panel including a Chetwynd resident was named to draft a vision for BC provincial parks. Wayne Sawchuk, local logger and wilderness advocate, stresses public input to balance conservation recreation and finances as 518 parks and 139 ecological reserves cover over 10 million hectares. Open houses begin Nov 10 in Kamloops with additional sessions in Prince George Nov 19 and Fort St. John Nov 26. Public submissions via the BC Parks Legacy Office or the project site are encouraged.
