Chamber of Commerce marks 30th Civic Night with Tarla Brewster citizen award
The Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce held Civic Night on October 21 1989 naming Tarla Brewster Citizen of the Year for 1989. Presentations honored leaders including Haldis Sanky Bernice Van Sickle Bob Shirley and local services. The year featured the Multiplex project and extensive community involvement through Junior Achievement Career Days ski trips power king events and regional initiatives.

Regional Representative Elected for Region H Chamber Council
Barb Shirley, Chamber Manager, was elected as Regional Representative for Region H. The Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the FBDB and EDC Officer Betty Deck, hosts a Business Fair today at the Rec Centre. Chetwynd honors civic leaders at 1989 night
Tammy Watson received the Junior Service Award for 1989 and was named Chetwynd's Miss Teen for 1989 Earlier in the year the community celebrated Tammy as a local pride. Commerce first Business of the Year was awarded to Westgates IGA.
