Union targets Peace Region towns over Site C labour mix
The BC Building Trades union met with Tumbler Ridge mayor and council to press concerns about site workers from outside the province and country. They urged Fort St. John to resist external labour influx as Site C construction begins. The union plans to present to more Peace Region municipalities. BC Building Trades signed a framework with Hydro May 27 favoring contractors with existing collective agreements and reliable skilled workers for main dam work.
