In a devotional from Robert Morgan's On This Day, a Bible verse from I Corinthians frames a tale of a modest woman, Gladys Aylward, who began on a bus in England as a 28-year-old parlor maid and became a noted missionary through simple faith and willingness to serve God.
Aylward’s conversion to mission work starts with pennies in a Bible and a dream to go to China. She overcomes rejection and danger, travels via Europe to Asia, and becomes a renowned missionary featured in film and TV. Her story ends with a challenge to pursue God’s call with a willing heart.
The notice lists a Sunday worship schedule with Presbyterian Anglican United and Lutheran groups at 10 00 am along with Sunday School at 10 00 am at the Chetwynd church contact 788 9530 and Reverend Mary Parslow for Northern Lights Christian Fellowship.
Fall colors and a busy seniors club season are noted with a Yukon visit, 32 attendees at the September pot luck celebrating Ben’s 90th, a carpet bowling fun day on October 4, and a Zone 12 meeting in Dawson Creek on October 8.
