A Crime Prevention Trade Show takes place at Northern Lights College Campus in the Industrial Park Chetwynd on October 29 and 30. The event features video and audio displays on Business Watch Shoplifting Fraudulent cheques and Driving under the influence with traffic portions led by Constable R J Allen. Topics include seatbelts driving habits and policy on traffic law enforcement and accident statistics. Free pamphlets and a Q A session accompany each presentation. A separate note mentions a recreational gym equipment discussion led by Mary Perry for a children's program at the recreation centre arena with twenty three to four year olds.

A Cabinet Committee initiative via the Provincial Ministry of Labour funds 270000 for the Peace River Liard region. Chetwynd Hospital unveils heart monitoring equipment
The Chetwynd Hospital showcased a new cardiac monitor and defibrillator, funded by Lions and Lioness Clubs of Chetwynd and Hudson's Hope, Royal Purple Lodge, and the Provincial Government. Welch says the devices will detect heart issues early and aid life saving, with the defibrillator delivering a rapid electrical shock when needed. The next goal is an anesthesia machine costing about four thousand five hundred dollars, with early progress reported.

Nie WORE Shah senior boys volleyball team earned a provincial level showing by finishing second to Prince George Polars in a tough tournament. A thrilling semi final against Dawson Creek saw Chetwynd win the first game 15 7 and the final game 21 19 after dropping the second 11 15.

Class of '72 reunion at Chetwynd High School
The Class of 72 reunion brought seventeen of thirty graduates back to Chetwynd last weekend to rekindle friendships and memories from a decade ago. Attendees from Chetwynd included Rhonda Burtch Jim Hernstedt Jon Nichols and several couples among others. Out of town guests came from Dawson Creek Vanderhoof Prince George Edmonton and North Vancouver.
