Bears in Chetwynd prompt overtime for conservation officers
Local Conservation Officer Steve Dowling reports a surge in bear complaints in Chetwynd with 52 calls in September. Bears, including a grizzly that had to be destroyed, are drawn to garbage and yards as winter approaches. Dowling urges residents to practice bear awareness to prevent further incidents. Prince George and other regions also report high activity.
