Closure plans ripple through Canada mills this fall
Short closures spread across multiple mills as Chetwynd ends production and Temiscaming and Matane in Quebec halt for a month and three weeks, a 31000 tonne drop. Elko Canal Flats and Cranbrook plants also suspend for weeks this fall while Cochrane Ont. to shut five months from late October.
