Pine River declared safe for drinking water after oil spill
After an August 2000 light crude oil spill from Pembina Pipeline near Chetwynd, the Pine River drinking water source is declared safe. No human exposure occurred. well sites were cleared by February 2001. full river ecosystem recovery will take years as Pembina continues monitoring and environmental studies.
