Gathering Space honors Aboriginal culture at NLC facility
Lt Governor and officials praised the new Gathering Space at NLC Chetwynd for integrating tradition and spirituality with study areas. A ventilation system enables smudging ceremonies without triggering fire alarms. The project included $35,000 from Talisman Energy and $15,000 from Walter Energy for furnishings and kitchen appliances. The space supports eight Aboriginal cultures and serves both Aboriginal students and the broader community.
