Water protection act repeal sparks environmental clash in province
Environment Minister Joyce Murray announced repeal of regulations for water quality testing across the province. A nine person panel will review the act, with SPEC and other groups urging testing costs to be covered. The panel will deliver preliminary findings by November 30 and final report by January 15, amid ongoing debates over safety, costs, and local testing responsibilities.
