Addictions survivor shares hope at community luncheon
Richard Hoard, a former Outlaw gang member turned seminary student and aspiring addictions counselor, spoke at the Tansi Friendship Centre soup and bannock luncheon ending National Addictions Awareness Week. He shared personal losses from addiction, a near death awakening, and urged community action to support youth and those battling addiction. Hoard has been alcohol and drug free for almost three years and plans to train at Nicola Valley Institute of Technology.
