Critters and beauty around Moberly Lake nature notes
June, a long-time resident of Moberly Lake, observes pine grosbeaks at feeders with a lone male bird calling from treetops. White breasted nuthatches and downy woodpeckers linger near food while chickadees forage. Mosses lichens and liverworts flourish on decaying stumps creating a miniature fairy garden with purple horn toothed moss and pixie cup club lichens.
