Provincial hockey comes to Chetwynd for bantams provincials
Chetwynd will host the Minor Hockey Bantams Provincial tournament during Spring Break 1999. Elaine Gladue, president of Chetwynd Minor Hockey, says it’s been over a decade since a provincial hockey event was held here and traveling to the Kootenays has been the norm for three years. She notes about 100000 dollars may stay in the community as visiting families spend on accommodation and meals, while local fans and grandparents will enjoy watching the games.
