Critters and Beasts of Moberly Lake Visit Feeders
June Cochrane reports about 40 evening grosbeaks visiting the Moberly Lake property feeding and bathing together in a small bird bath as temperatures rise. Chickadees remain with a lone white breasted nuthatch while upside down tree creepers forage under conifer bark. A pair of gray capped rosy finches joined the flock, and birds once nested among rocks and crevices in mountains. A pack rat problem led Roy to set a peanut butter trap catching a northern flying squirrel, which was released unharmed.
