Bert McGraw was hailed as 1983 Citizen of the Year at the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce Civic Night Banquet on November 4 at the Catholic Church Hall. The event honored his work as chairman of the TV Communications Society in bringing TV and FM radio to Chetwynd and area, with Ralph Larsen and Mike Schmok presenting the citation.

Bob Shirley presented the Presidents Report noting a busy period of activity, a membership of 78 and growing, and events including Citizens Patrol Frontier Days Goulish Affairs Halloween Party Miss Teen Chetwynd Pageant RCMP hosted Pie Eating Contest won by Director Don and the Vintage Car Club Pancake Breakfast. The chamber acquired a BC Rail caboose for $1.07 to locate beside the office and plans to spruce it up as a community asset. A 23 page Chetwynd Information magazine was printed for free distribution and more services were planned.
