Interlock on drivers could save hundreds of lives says MADD founder
John Bates told Ontario lawmakers that ignition interlocks could cut impaired driving. He argued that recidivists drive to kill and that applying interlocks now could save about 819 lives by preventing 1,800 potential offenders from starting their cars after drinking. Hill added that interlocks stop drunk drivers from being on the road, reducing accidents.
