CN Rail labour talks with Teamsters extend past deadline
CN Rail and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference negotiators remain in talks past the October 28 deadline with mediation ongoing. Neither side has served 72 hours notice for a strike or lockout, risking disruption to grain coal crude oil and other goods across Canada. The union says talks stalled over CN demands for longer hours and less reset time while CN says no safety compromises are proposed. The two sides continue under federal mediation with 3,300 members represented by TCRC.
