Baton recital celebrates Disney tribute in high school
Annette Girard led a second annual baton recital on May 26 in the high school auditorium. Twirlers dressed as Disneyland lands performed to character themed melodies with stage backdrops of It’s A Small World. Christine Hoffman and D Arcy Jackman presented a token of appreciation. Certificates were awarded to all students for 1973 74 with multiple honors including perfect attendance and outstanding achievement for several named students.

Police report of multiple 1974 highway crashes near Chetwynd
On May 18 at 6 15 a m a vehicle with Ronald Burbee and Barry Herman left the 97 Highway near Chetwynd and rolled into a ditch. Both were taken to hospital. Herman released, Burbee remained. RCMP ongoing investigation. At 8 15 p m Hoover and Mounsey left the same highway west of Chetwynd, both treated for minor injuries and released. RCMP continued inquiry. On May 20 at 4 20 p m Louise Jensen and Raem Wells, both of Chetwynd, were in a motor vehicle accident with no injuries and light damage.

Village council met May 24 at the Village Office and unanimously disapproved Bill 85. They instructed the clerk to draft a letter to government outlining views. In other business, a $180 grant to the Centennial Library Board was approved for a P A L A conference banquet in Chetwynd.
