Chetwynd to gain safe drinking water with $1.5 million aid
The District of Chetwynd, long constrained by water quality, will upgrade its water system with nearly 1.5 million in Canada BC Infrastructure Program funding. Mayor Evan Saugstad and MLA Blair Lekstrom note progress, while total project cost is 2.2 million with Chetwynd contributing 750,000. The work includes reservoir lining, treatment system relocation, UV disinfection, hydrocarbon equipment, and a river well blend.
