Darlene Stanfield reports Brit Hamberstad a 23 year old Norwegian born stylist recently trained in Penticton B C plans to open a hair salon at Harriet's Hair Design old location. Grand Opening on May 17 features 20 percent off perms and colour sale and invites locals to attend.
Annie Okeson reports a fashion display by Ken Browns along Peace River with native village backdrop and a canoe dock. Chief George Desjarlais and West Moberly First Nations, Darcy Desjarlais and dancers wowed crowd with pow wow rounds. Models wore moosehide leather and cotton garments, many handmade. Credit goes to Madeline Davis, Darcy Desjarlais, Bev Woods, Marianne Kristoffy and others for design, sewing, and setup.
