Emperor's Challenge marks twelfth year in Tumbler Ridge
The Emperor's Challenge, billed as one of the world’s toughest and most scenic half marathons, draws nearly 500 participants from Western Canada the U.S. and England. Organizers led by Charles Helm plan the Aug. 7 race near Tumbler Ridge, with a new Babcock Mountain route to ease bottlenecks on Matthews Gully.
