Walter Energy in Canada warned of bankruptcy filing this month
Walter Energy Inc may seek Chapter 11 protection if it cannot restructure debt or pay a 64.2 million interest due to bondholders by May 15 after a 30 day grace period. The company operates Wolver ine, Willow Creek and Brule mines near Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge in northeast B C and idled all Canadian operations by mid 2014.
