Canfor posts first-quarter profit amid lumber price lift
Canfor Corp of Vancouver reports a 32.5 million profit for Q1 2010, a rare gain after a three-year downturn driven by weak U.S. housing. The firm, with mills in Prince George, Quesnel, Mackenzie and other B.C. sites, expects a modest lumber demand rebound as prices rise mainly from supply cuts and Asian demand.
