Local talent Robin Roller shines from small town to Nashville
Jackie Drake reports on Easter Sunday joy as Robin Roller, a Chetwynd native, returns home to sing at a Baptist church. The self taught five string banjoist with roots in Petticoat Junction has spent about ten years in Nashville, performing with gospel groups and occasionally on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. She studied music in Leveland Texas, earned early recognition with a 95 percent English score and a $500 scholarship, and now works at Meharry Hospital while pursuing music full time. The piece highlights Robin’s journey, her family support, and the pride of the community.
