Girard posts strong Boston Marathon finish in bitter wind
Ron Girard, former Chetwynd resident, completed his Boston Marathon in 2 59 40 net time amid the coldest race in 104 years. He battled a 30 mph head wind from mile 17, wearing a toque and gloves earlier but finishing in a t shirt and shorts. He found motivation cheering with Dick Hoyt and his son Rick, and his wife Patricia and friend Peter Asch joined him at mile 21 to spur him on.
