BC introduces new piece rate silviculture worker standards
The Ministry of Labour unveiled employment standards for silviculture workers paid mainly by piece rate. The rules set minimum pay, shift schedules, overtime formula, camp fees, and protections against penalties. Effective April 14, the regulations require compliance with provincial minimums, rest days, remote camp limits, and prohibit deductions from workers for third party penalties.
