Chetwynd Through Time From Little Prairie to Now
In 1958 we arrived in Chetwynd when it was Little Prairie tied to the PGE era. The town grew with the highway, a bank came later, and I watched a school move where the Esso station sits. I live west of town on a scenic acreage and value Pine Valley Seniors, Nifty Knitters Club, knitting hobbies, reading, and the local library.

Community Forestry program announced by minister
Forests Minister Dave Parker announced a new five million dollar community forestry program expected to create up to 750 short term jobs. Governments can propose cost-shared projects with the province covering up to 75 percent of costs. Local governments must raise at least 25 percent and federal programs may count toward this share. Projects focus on incremental silviculture to boost immature forest value and growth, with recreation site development and trails possible as part of proposals.
