The District of Chetwynd received a 25000 grant from CN EcoConnexions From the Ground Up to plant trees along the railway between the tracks and the new Chetwynd Medical Clinic and Wellness Centre. The plan includes a mild berm, trees, and a walking path, with a local buyer for the trees. CN notes nearly 40000 trees have been planted in 85 communities over three years.

Chetwynd approves Ecologix water trial for fracking use
The District of Chetwynd clears a pilot project allowing Ecologix to run two plants converting sewage effluent to reusable water for fracking.
