Open elk season declared in Peace Region wildlife plan
The Ministry of Environment announces an open season for antlerless elk in the Peace Region running until March 31 or 72 hours after notice of closure. Hunters may reuse 2006 tags or buy new, and must report kill data within 48 hours to Fort St. John. Heads must be submitted for chronic wasting disease testing amid deer harvests last February totaling 333 antlerless animals.
