Northern Health Board approves Northern Cancer Program for North BC
Northern Health Board in Prince George approved a Northern Cancer Program aimed at improving cancer outcomes across Northern British Columbia. The plan includes short term steps such as more nursing staff at community clinics, training for northern physicians, a rural travel program, enhanced Telehealth, tobacco reduction support, and boosting Women's Health Program cancer screening rates. The board and BC Cancer Agency will further study disparities in service utilization and access to radiotherapy, with a plan due to their next meeting.
