Drunk driver Tased by RCMP during traffic stop in Chetwynd

Police attempted a routine stop on North Access Road when a brown van failed to pull over. The intoxicated driver advanced toward officers prompting Cst. Chauntel Inman to draw her firearm. Cst. James Fayle tackled the man to the ground and both he and the passenger were taken into custody.

BC moves to seize criminals assets under Civil Forfeiture Act

Victoria BC announces Civil Forfeiture Act to seize ill gotten assets from organized crime. The act lets courts order forfeiture of houses cars and other property tied to unlawful activity with funds directed to crime prevention enforcement and victim remedies. Assets liquidated go to Civil Forfeiture Account to support policing and related programs.
