BC government and Wildlife Federation merge CORE training program
New hunters will receive safety training and ethics education under the merged Conservation Outdoor Recreation Education program. The partnership aims to maintain high standards, expand volunteer examiner involvement, and educate on handling firearms, regulations, first aid, and species identification. Exam fees rose from seven to ten dollars, supporting volunteer examiners. Since 1974 CORE has trained over 160000 graduates, with a notable drop in firearm related hunting accidents.
