British Columbia Forestry Faces Persistent 1998 Losses
Price Waterhouse's Mike MacCallum warned 500 industry representatives at the BC Forest Industry Conference that unprofitability would persist in 1998. BC timber harvest may drop nearly 10 percent to a 15 year low, with total forest product sales near 16.2 billion in 1997 and a 1997 after tax loss of 350 million.
