Chetwynd Chamber Invited to BC AGM and Rendezvous Events
At a recent Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Dragon Palace speakers Lenore Lawrence and Ken Bocking from Dawson Creek Chamber and Tracey Wolsey from Peace River Liard Community Futures discussed the BC Chamber AGM in May in Dawson Creek. Chetwynd is invited to attend though not a BC Chamber member. Events include Roadshow Rendezvous 92 theme 1942, Stagedoor Canteen May 29 with two dinner sittings, casino, entertainment and CanCan dancers. Dawson Creek Golf Classic May 28. Wolsey outlined Community Futures lending up to 75000 with five year terms, to date 200 loans totaling about 400000 in the area, 75 percent success. 150 Self Employment contracts at 230 weekly top-up for USC recipients. 74 percent success. The group also noted school planning for Rodeo subdivision set for 1993, with a new wood school designed by the Enhancement Centre architect.
