British Columbia budget projects balanced goal by 2013
The 2010 provincial budget keeps funding in some areas and restores cuts in others while reducing forestry funding. It forecasts deficits of 1.7 billion in 2010/11, 945 million in 2011/12 and 145 million in 2012/13 to reach a balanced budget by 2013/14. Finance Minister Colin Hansen cites Olympics driven investment and tourism as growth engines.
