Local floods raise questions on PEP and delay in aid
Residents near the Pine River evacuated as water rose to flood levels, with Greenwood family losing land and their dog in 20 feet currents. Authorities claimed no worries while Regional District eventually provided sandbags. Local PEP reps did not reply, and areas outside PEP jurisdiction faced slow help as highways and rail lines were affected and other communities prepared for ongoing flood risk through end of June.
