Golf Rule Clarification on Wrong Ball Penalties
The text explains golf penalties for playing a wrong ball. In match play a wrong ball costs the hole, in stroke play a two stroke penalty and must correct before the next tee. No penalty if the wrong ball is played only in a hazard and the player then continues with their own ball. Strokes with a wrong ball do not count for that hole.
