Northeast leads BC in income and job growth
The BC Check-Up Regional Edition reports the Northeast Development Region shows the province’s strongest income growth and lowest unemployment at 3.7 percent. Driven by oil, gas, and mining activity, the area posted higher pre tax income and rapid project development with 19 major projects, including coal mines near Chetwynd and Dawson Creek, and hydroelectric upgrades near Fort St John and Hudson Hope.
