Oil and gas education event educates public in Chetwynd
The Northeast Discover Energy Initiative held a day long open house at Cottonwood Hall in Chetwynd to explain oil and gas operations from extraction to reclamation. Organizers noted youth interest and job prospects while participants from Spectra Energy, Northern Lights College, the Oil and Gas Commission, and local communities learned about tenure, seismic work, drilling, pipeline construction, and environmental stewardship. The tour also visited Tumbler Ridge and Dawson Creek with eight sponsoring energy companies in attendance.
