KAON project hinges on federal funding and Ottawa action
BC government pledges one third of KAON capital costs and part of annual electricity costs with up to 13 million dollars yearly. Canada and other nations have committed funds though the Federal Government has not moved forward in six months. The project promises 17 000 person years of construction work and 1 900 jobs when operational, boosting BCs high tech sector by about 243 million dollars yearly.
