Canfor Expands Logging with Duz Cho on McLeod Lake Lands
Canfor and the Duz Cho council discuss a roadblock linked to logging as McLeod Lake Band increases annual log capacity from 30,000 to 1,000,000 cubic metres. Last year their harvest reached 800,000 cubic metres, about 20,000 truckloads. Larry Clark notes two decades of reliable wood supply, strong audits, and community support including a meal for 450 graduates. The McLeod Lake Band has 500 members with 100 on reserve and 150 in Mackenzie Chetwynd and Prince George communities.
