New Bridges For Pass Realign to Avoid Avalanche Hazards
The project widens and realigns Highway 97 through Pine Pass adding passing lanes while moving away from two active avalanche hazards at Solitude Mountain. Aims include minimizing environmental impact, maintaining fish and wildlife habitat, and improving aesthetics. First stage began this summer with completion expected in 1991.
